Manchester United target…

FC Barcelona is gearing up for a pivotal summer transfer window, with player sales anticipated to be key in shaping the squad for next season.

The club has postponed significant decisions while concentrating on clinching the league title, but once that goal is achieved, activity in the transfer market is expected to pick up speed.

Barcelona’s priorities regarding new signings have been established, but generating funds is crucial to execute those strategies.

Consequently, the club has pinpointed several players for potential departures, aiming to meet financial targets without severely impacting the team’s strength.

According to SPORT, Alejandro Balde is among those considered for sale as Manchester United has expressed interest in the left-back, depending on the player’s willingness to move.

Barcelona, for their part, wouldn’t obstruct a substantial offer, although the La Masia graduate has thus far indicated no intention to depart.

Balde’s diminished role this season and his contract extending until 2028 have brought him under scrutiny.

Barcelona is also assessing options at left-back and is keen to retain Joao Cancelo, who has established himself as a regular starter.

The Blaugrana believe that a significant sale, potentially over €50 million, could greatly assist their transfer plans.

However, they are not planning to push Balde out, leaving his agent Jorge Mendes to oversee any negotiations.

Other potential exits

Mendes is also anticipated to aid in handling the situation of Marc Casado, who has seen limited action under Hansi Flick this season. Barcelona is open to selling him, eyeing a potential departure that was previously considered last year.

A similar scenario applies to Jules Kounde. Though the defender is a key player for Flick and recently extended his contract until 2030, the club would contemplate an exceptional offer should one arise.

Barcelona recognizes the necessity of income, particularly with the return to La Liga’s 1:1 salary cap rule. Their transfer ambitions include securing a leading centre-back, targeting Alessandro Bastoni as a primary target, along with the addition of a high-profile striker, particularly Julian Alvarez.

If the expected sales do not come to fruition, the club may need to consider more sensitive exits, including Raphinha, a pivotal player in recent seasons who has received offers from Saudi Arabia.
