Real Madrid Eyes…

According to a recent report from Defensa Central, Real Madrid is keeping an eye on Manchester City midfielder Tijjani Reijnders. The Spanish giants are reportedly considering making a move to sign the Dutch talent from Manchester City this summer.

Reijnders’ Key Contributions at Man City This Season

This season, Reijnders has proven to be a valuable asset in Pep Guardiola’s lineup, delivering several impressive performances in the Premier League. The 27-year-old has appeared 45 times for the club, netting seven goals and providing eight assists across various competitions.

To achieve success at the highest level, Reijnders will need consistent playing time, which could prompt him to seek a new opportunity for more first-team action next season.

His contract at the Etihad runs until the summer of 2030, giving Guardiola no immediate pressure to sell him this offseason.

Is It Time for Pep Guardiola to Move On from Reijnders?

Reijnders is known for his strong tackling ability and awareness of defensive threats, making him effective at regaining possession for his team. He competently employs both long passes and simpler distribution to maintain team fluidity.

Standing at 1.85m, the Dutch player can leverage his physicality to excel in aerial challenges. Primarily a box-to-box midfielder, he can also adapt to play as a defensive midfielder or in an attacking role if needed. However, he has yet to establish himself as a reliable starter in the Premier League.

Currently, Reijnders is not a regular feature in Pep Guardiola’s lineup. Therefore, it may be prudent for Manchester City to consider letting him go this summer unless they intend to increase his playing time next season.

At 27, Reijnders is at a pivotal stage of his career and has the potential to be an invaluable asset for Manchester City moving forward. However, Guardiola might find it more beneficial to sell him now and use the funds to secure a quality replacement during the summer transfer window.
