Last Sunday, Hansi Flick’s FC Barcelona wrapped up their season with a match against Real Betis at the Spotify Camp Nou, securing a remarkable 19 wins in 19 home matches within La Liga.
Football action at the Spotify Camp Nou will be on hold until mid-August, when the Joan Gamper Trophy is scheduled to take place, though the exact date and opponent are yet to be confirmed, followed by the commencement of the new league season.

Construction Efforts Intensifying
This hiatus will result in over three months without matches, allowing construction work at Barcelona’s stadium to progress significantly, potentially aligning with the club’s forthcoming objectives, as reported by SPORT.
The third tier of the stadium has been fully erected, with concrete work having been completed for several weeks. Currently, welding work is underway, after which waterproofing will commence.

In the coming months, construction will not only move forward on the third tier but across various sections of Espai Barça as well.
Priority will be given to the new Museum and the so-called “diamonds” located in front of the Main Stand, one of which will house the new Spotify Camp Nou Store.
Barcelona’s Strategic Plan
According to Barcelona’s strategic roadmap, by the 2026-27 season, the entire third tier may be operational. Similar to the two lower levels, this will occur in phases.
The first phase will focus on opening the side sections and parts of both the South and North Stand areas.

The club is cautious about providing specific dates due to past delays, but they have set an internal goal for October regarding the first phase of stadium capacity expansion.
To achieve this, it is crucial to expedite construction over the next few months and streamline administrative processes with Barcelona City Council.
Opening this section will also include activating the VIP boxes situated between the second and third tiers of the Spotify Camp Nou.
The second phase will encompass the Main Stand and the remaining areas of the South Stand, while the third phase will complete the opening of the North Stand.
The installation of the roof is projected to commence in summer 2027, with the club estimating that this process will take approximately four and a half months to complete.
