According to a recent report by journalist Simon Phillips, Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez is likely set to depart this summer. The Argentine playmaker seems to be moving closer to parting ways with the Blues during this off-season.
Fernandez’s Exceptional Season in English Football
Fernandez has had an outstanding season with the West London club, showcasing his skill with a series of commendable performances in the Premier League. The 25-year-old has scored 15 goals and provided seven assists in 54 appearances for Chelsea across all competitions this season.

The Argentine talent is considered one of the top central midfielders in the Premier League, making it difficult for Chelsea to retain him beyond this campaign.
With his current contract at Stamford Bridge running until the summer of 2032, Chelsea is not under urgent pressure to sell unless presented with a significant offer this off-season.

Can Chelsea Afford to Lose Fernandez This Summer?
Fernandez is known for his tackling ability and knack for timing his challenges effectively to regain possession for his team. He is not shy about making strong plays when necessary and is also an accurate passer.

This talented midfielder not only scores but also creates crucial goals for his team. While primarily a box-to-box midfielder, he can adapt to play as a defensive midfielder or in a number ten role as needed by his manager. Being well-acquainted with the Premier League, he is already one of the first names on Chelsea’s team sheet.
Therefore, it would be wise for Chelsea to hold on to him for the long term. However, lacking UEFA Champions League football next season might pose a challenge in persuading the player to remain beyond this summer.
At just 25 years old, Fernandez’s prime years are ahead of him, and he is currently an indispensable part of Chelsea’s starting lineup. Consequently, the Blues could only afford to let him go if they receive a considerable offer, which they could then use to secure a suitable replacement in the upcoming transfer window.
