As reported by L’Équipe, internal tensions at Marseille have escalated following an alleged confrontation between assistant coach Jacques Abardonado and sporting coordinator Bob Tahri, which occurred after OM’s 3-1 win against Rennes on May 17.
According to the report, Abardonado confronted Tahri regarding rumors labeling him as the “mole” within the club’s locker room—accusations that have proliferated on social media in recent weeks. The exchange escalated until several bystanders intervened to separate them.
Abardonado reportedly suspects that associates of former sporting advisor Medhi Benatia are behind the smear campaign against him. L’Équipe notes that due to the damage to his reputation, Abardonado is contemplating leaving Marseille.
This incident adds to a broader atmosphere of mistrust and internal strife that has reportedly plagued the club for the past two seasons. Several current and former players, including Valentin Rongier, Geoffrey Kondogbia, and Benjamin Pavard, have been previously suspected of leaking information to the outside.
