Sources have informed ESPN that Bernardo Silva is a “viable option” for Barcelona as the Spanish champions continue their impressive summer transfer campaign.
At 31 years old, Silva is set to become a free agent after confirming he will exit Manchester City following nine successful years at the club, with his contract expiring in June.
The Portugal international has attracted interest from several clubs, including Atlético Madrid, Benfica, as well as teams from Saudi Arabia and the MLS.
While Silva has not publicly disclosed his plans, sources within Barcelona indicate that his signing is “feasible” and a “real option.”
Barcelona has already secured the services of Anthony Gordon from Newcastle United for an initial fee of €70 million ($81 million), with the England winger set to be officially unveiled on Friday.
According to ESPN, following the acquisition of Gordon, Barcelona has intensified their pursuit of Julián Álvarez from Atlético Madrid.

As Robert Lewandowski has announced plans to depart when his contract expires next month, Barcelona is actively exploring the market for a new striker. Sources suggest that Gordon’s signing is unrelated to their pursuit of a new No. 9.
Additionally, Marcus Rashford remains a consideration for Barcelona, who have the option to make his loan from Manchester United permanent for €30 million.
Club insiders indicate that they have not dismissed the idea of re-signing the England forward, despite the addition of Gordon, who occupies a similar position, and they are keen to renegotiate the terms of the deal with United.
