In a surprising turn of events, Arne Slot has emerged as the new frontrunner for the managerial position at AC Milan, just hours after his dismissal from Liverpool, where he is likely to be succeeded by Andoni Iraola.
The managerial carousel has been quite tumultuous this summer, with many clubs undergoing coaching changes.

After parting ways with Max Allegri, Milan had set its sights on Iraola, believing he was the right fit following his successful stint at Bournemouth.
However, it soon became apparent that Iraola was holding out for another opportunity, which happened to be from Liverpool.

This afternoon, it was made official that Liverpool had terminated Slot’s contract, and shortly thereafter, Belgian transfer expert Sacha Tavolieri reported that the Dutch manager was in discussions with Milan.

Slot, 47, had a successful season last year, winning the Premier League, having previously claimed the Dutch League title with Feyenoord.
His tenure at Anfield lasted just two seasons, ending after a fifth-place finish in the Premier League this year.

Thus far, Slot had not been considered for the Milan position, as the club’s primary target was currently former Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner.
A meeting with Glasner has been arranged for next week.
