Fabrizio Romano: Liverpool’s Next Manager Has Been Chosen
Big changes are afoot at Anfield. This morning, Liverpool made the surprising decision to part ways with Arne Slot and have already selected his successor.
According to Fabrizio Romano, who first reported Slot’s dismissal, the club has moved swiftly in its decision-making.
In a post on X, he stated: “Andoni Iraola is set to take over as Liverpool’s new manager, as revealed earlier today!”
“Negotiations will progress quickly to finalize the process, but #LFC has made its choice…”
“Iraola will be the new head coach.”
The Spaniard previously led Bournemouth to a sixth-place finish in the Premier League, securing the club’s first-ever spot in European competition.
During his time at Bournemouth, Iraola collaborated closely with Liverpool’s sporting director Richard Hughes.

After recently declining an opportunity to join AC Milan a few days ago, it seems he was awaiting the opportunity at Liverpool.
As for Slot, it’s a disappointing conclusion for the second manager in Liverpool’s history to clinch the Premier League title. He certainly deserved a proper farewell from the fans, but the circumstances of this season were against him.
