Brazil scored four goals in the second half to secure a 6-2 win over Panama during their World Cup preparations in Rio de Janeiro on Sunday.
Coach Carlo Ancelotti made significant changes at halftime, substituting 10 players from the starting lineup. Despite the team’s dominance, star player Neymar did not participate due to a calf injury.
The match kicked off with Brazil taking the lead just two minutes in, as Vinícius Júnior struck a shot from outside the box into the top corner.
However, Panama equalized in the 14th minute when Amir Murillo’s free kick deflected off Matheus Cunha. Brazil quickly regained the lead just before halftime, as Casemiro headed in a cross from Vinícius.
With a host of new players on the pitch after halftime, Bournemouth’s Rayan scored shortly after the break, followed by Lucas Paquetá adding a fourth goal on the hour mark.
Just three minutes later, Brentford’s Igor Thiago converted a penalty after being fouled by Orlando Mosquera.
Finally, Danilo rounded off the scoring with a goal from Lucas Paquetá’s through ball, before Carlos Harvey pulled one back for Panama late in the game.
Brazil will conclude their warm-up matches against Egypt in Cleveland on Saturday, ahead of their World Cup opener against Morocco on June 13.
