David Watson is taking on “a different challenge” by transferring to Bolton Wanderers from Kilmarnock.
The 21-year-old midfielder is nearing the end of his contract with Kilmarnock and is set to join Bolton as they return to England‘s Championship. The clubs have agreed on a compensation package for the transfer.

During this season, Watson appeared 42 times and scored three goals, contributing to Kilmarnock’s 10th-place finish in the Premiership.
“David has been with us since he was seven and has made 140 senior appearances, even becoming the captain of Scotland’s Under-21 team,” said a statement from the Rugby Park club.
“He netted 13 goals and provided six assists throughout his time at Kilmarnock, playing a key role in the first team over the past three seasons since his breakthrough.”
“Everyone at Kilmarnock sincerely thanks David for his dedication to the club. He has progressed through our academy and leaves with our best wishes for his future career.”

Watson expressed his excitement to Bolton’s official website, saying, “It’s a different challenge for me, as I’ve never left Scottish football.”
