According to Belgian transfer expert Sacha Tavolieri, he is being pursued by multiple Italian clubs, including AC Milan.
It’s likely that AS Roma is also in the mix, given that Engels was among the names on Gasperini’s list during his time at Atalanta in 2025.
With Roma now qualified for the Champions League, they could make a compelling argument for acquiring the player.

Engels, a versatile midfielder who can also operate as a right wing-back, moved to Celtic from Augsburg for €13 million in 2024.
This season, he made 46 appearances for Celtic, scoring seven goals and providing eight assists.
