Sources: Palace Preparing…

Crystal Palace is reportedly preparing to make an offer for Pierre Sage, the Ligue 1 manager of the season, according to sources at ESPN.

Sage has had a remarkable season with Lens, guiding them to a second-place finish in the league, just behind PSG, and also achieving a historic first-ever victory in the French Cup.

Crystal Palace has pinpointed the 47-year-old as a top contender to succeed the departing Oliver Glasner this summer.

After failing to secure Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola for Selhurst Park, Sage has emerged as the frontrunner for the position.

Despite being under contract for another two years, Lens owner Joseph Oughourlian is reluctant to part with the former Lyon manager. However, sources indicate that Oughourlian recognizes Sage’s desire to manage in the Premier League next season, particularly with Crystal Palace.

Negotiations between the two clubs have already begun, and Lens is anticipating an initial offer from Palace in the coming hours, the sources added.
