Højlund Completes…

Rasmus Højlund has officially transferred to Napoli from Manchester United.

Højlund’s permanent transfer follows a loan spell last season at Napoli, which was solidified by the team’s qualification for the Serie A Champions League.

The overall deal, valued at £43.2m ($58.1m) including the prior loan fee, was confirmed on Wednesday.

Højlund departs Old Trafford after three years, having joined for £72m ($96.8m) from Atalanta in 2023.

During his time with United, he netted 26 goals in 95 appearances but was transferred following the acquisition of Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig last summer.

Sources indicate that Napoli’s permanent acquisition of Højlund, valued at approximately £38m ($51m), will offset the fee agreed with Atalanta for midfielder Éderson.

The Brazilian is on the verge of joining United for an initial £35m ($47m), along with performance-based add-ons.

United is preparing for more player departures this summer, with Casemiro, Tyrell Malacia, and Jadon Sancho all set to leave on free transfers.

The club is also expecting interest from Serie A in striker Joshua Zirkzee and from Turkey for second-choice goalkeeper Altay Bayindir. They are also receptive to offers for midfielder Manuel Ugarte.

United remains optimistic about securing permanent deals for Marcus Rashford and Andre Onana, who spent the previous season on loan at Barcelona and Trabzonspor, respectively.

Barcelona has the option to finalize a deal for Rashford for £26m ($35m) before June 15. Onana, meanwhile, has been informed he is not in Michael Carrick’s plans for the upcoming season.
