Forest Turn Down Citys…

Manchester City has seen their initial offer for Elliot Anderson rejected by Nottingham Forest, sources informed ESPN.

The 23-year-old is reportedly City’s top target for the summer, and they have taken the step of making a formal offer.

Forest, however, has declined the bid, but City is likely to submit an enhanced proposal.

Sources indicate that City officials do not expect a quick resolution, especially with Anderson currently with the England squad at their World Cup training base in Florida.

The two clubs are significantly apart in their valuations of Anderson.

Forest is aiming for a fee of approximately £120 million ($161 million), while City’s initial assessment is around £80 million ($107 million). Manchester United is also showing interest, but the financial disparity remains a major obstacle.

In addition, City is monitoring potential signings for right-backs and right wingers as the summer transfer window approaches.

The team is looking for a young right-back to challenge Matheus Nunes, who held the first-choice position last season. Sources emphasize that the club is satisfied with Nunes and does not intend to replace the 27-year-old.

Rico Lewis is contemplating his future following a challenging season at the Etihad Stadium. The 21-year-old, who was pursued by Forest last summer, is considering his options regarding a potential move.

Meanwhile, City is engaged in discussions about compensation owed to Chelsea before they can appoint Enzo Maresca as their new manager.

Maresca, who left Stamford Bridge in January, has been selected to succeed Pep Guardiola, but the announcement has been postponed due to ongoing negotiations with Chelsea.
