Mexican striker Raúl Jiménez is set to return to Wolverhampton Wanderers, having signed a two-year deal with an option for a third, as announced by the Championship club on Tuesday.
“Bringing Raúl back to Wolves is a significant moment for all connected to this club,” stated club chairman Nathan Shi. “Raúl is not only one of the best strikers to ever wear our gold and black jersey, but he also represents everything that defines Wolves.”
Jiménez has spent the last three seasons with Fulham after initially making his mark in the English league with Wolves from 2018 to 2023, where he netted 57 goals in 166 appearances.
Leading the attack, Jiménez played a crucial role in helping the Premier League team achieve a remarkable seventh-place finish in the 2018-19 season and contributed significantly to their run to the Europa League quarterfinals in the following season.
“We’re thrilled to have Raúl back, and I know everyone will be very excited,” commented head coach Rob Edwards. “His extensive experience combined with his familiarity with Wolverhampton, the area, and the club’s culture will be invaluable. He understands what it means to represent Wolverhampton Wanderers, making it easier for me to set my expectations for the team.”
Before focusing on helping Wolves secure a return to the Premier League, the 35-year-old will represent his country as a key attacking player in the 2026 World Cup. Jiménez and Mexico are set to kick off the tournament at home in the Estadio Azteca, facing South Africa, followed by matches against South Korea and Czechia in the group stage.
