A number of Real Madrid stars showcased their talent at the 2026 World Cup, notably Vinicius Junior and Brahim Diaz. The duo competed against each other late on Saturday during the match between Brazil and Morocco in New Jersey, proving pivotal for their teams.
Morocco struck first in the 21st minute, with PSV Eindhoven’s Ismael Saibari scoring the goal, following a mesmerizing through ball from Brahim Diaz. The Real Madrid player’s precise pass caught Brazil’s goalkeeper Alisson Becker off-guard, gifting the Atlas Lions an exhilarating start to their World Cup campaign.
However, Morocco’s lead was short-lived, lasting only 10 minutes. Brazil responded with vigor, and it was no surprise when talisman Vinicius Junior brought them level. After a clever exchange with Bruno Guimaraes, he unleashed a powerful shot into the far corner of the net.
Real Madrid will be delighted to see their players performing well on such a prominent stage, and more of their talent will be on display on Day 3 when Arda Guler and Türkiye take on Australia in a match scheduled for 6 am CEST.

Vinicius is set to be a free agent next summer and while he has not yet signed a new contract, discussions are expected after the World Cup. Meanwhile, Brahim is attracting interest from Italian club Juventus, but Los Blancos officials have made it clear in initial discussions that he is not up for sale in 2026.
