Newly appointed RB Salzburg head coach Danny Rohl has claimed that he leaves Rangers “in a stronger position” after his eight-month tenure.
The 37-year-old German rejuvenated the Ibrox club’s title hopes following a rocky start to the season under Russell Martin, although they ultimately stumbled to finish third behind Celtic and Hearts after losing four of their last five matches.
Following his decision to cut short a two-and-a-half-year contract with Rangers to accept a three-year deal with the Austrian club, which also finished third in the Bundesliga, Rohl took to Instagram to share his gratitude: “As I embark on a new chapter, I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone associated with Rangers.”
“It has been a tremendous honor to be part of this remarkable club. I am grateful to the players, staff, and, of course, the fantastic supporters for their warm welcome and unwavering support.”
“It was truly a privilege to witness your passion and to have you alongside us.”
Rohl expressed his appreciation for chairman Andrew Cavenagh and added, “I take pride in what we accomplished together over the past year. Although there is always more to strive for, I confidently believe the club is in a stronger position and ready for what lies ahead.”
