Real Madrid Yet to…

Following two disappointing seasons, Real Madrid is committed to a major rebuild this summer, and coach Jose Mourinho is particularly focused on strengthening the team’s defense.

The club has already signed three new players to bolster their backline, but Mourinho is reportedly seeking to acquire an additional center-back.

According to Fabrizio Romano, despite the swirling rumors regarding a potential transfer, Real Madrid has made no contact with Inter Milan regarding the defender as of now.

Romano further states that Inter has not received any official inquiries or bids from Real Madrid for Bastoni, and the rumored interest has not led to any substantial action.

Crucially, Inter Milan remains confident in retaining their defender for the upcoming season.

The Italian club has no intention of parting with one of their key players, and without a formal approach from Real Madrid, there is nothing for them to contemplate.

Romano indicates that there is a substantial gap between a club’s admiration for a player and actually taking concrete steps to secure them. While Bastoni may be a target for Real Madrid, mere admiration does not equate to a transfer effort.

Bastoni is not the only player on Real Madrid’s radar as they seek to enhance their defensive lineup.

The club has already signed Ibrahima Konate, but Mourinho reportedly wants at least one more central defender before the transfer window closes.

Borussia Dortmund’s Nico Schlotterbeck has also been mentioned, though his recent ankle ligament injury, which kept him out of the World Cup, may complicate any interest.

Additionally, a potential move for Manchester City’s Ruben Dias appears unlikely due to the club’s unwillingness to sell.

The situation is also affected by potential player departures, as Raul Asencio may need to be sold to make room for any new central defensive signings.
