Arsenal target PSGs…

Arsenal plan to intensify their pursuit of Paris St-Germain winger Bradley Barcola this week after receiving signs he could be available this summer. Club representatives, who have monitored him for a while, intend to watch him again in France’s World Cup last-32 match against Sweden on Tuesday night (22:00 BST).

While 23-year-old England forward Morgan Rogers is a leading target, Aston Villa’s reported £130m valuation is a major obstacle. As a result, Barcola, also 23, is viewed by Arsenal’s recruitment team as a strong alternative. The drawn-out move of RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande to PSG could also influence Barcola’s future.

Barcola is under contract with the Champions League holders until summer 2028, so he would likely cost significantly less than Rogers, whose Villa deal runs to 2031. If PSG are open to offers, Arsenal would be among the interested clubs, with Liverpool also tracking the winger.

Arsenal also have strong interest in Leeds goalkeeper Illan Meslier. With uncertainty surrounding current No 2 Kepa Arrizabalaga’s future, the club is exploring options. Meslier, who has lost the starting role at Leeds, is out of contract this summer and the 26-year-old is available on a free transfer.
