Speaking to Erem News (h/t SPORT), Bori Fati revealed that Flick never contacted Ansu before his transfer was finalized.

“No, he never spoke with him, and nothing happened that would make him reconsider his decision to leave,” Bori stated.
It’s important to note that the 23-year-old was not part of Flick’s plans, regardless of public statements, making a permanent transfer necessary after his loan spell at Monaco during the 2025/26 season.

Delay in Ansu Fati’s Monaco Transfer
Bori Fati also explained why the completion of Ansu Fati’s move to Monaco was delayed, despite prior reports suggesting the agreement had been reached weeks earlier.
He stated, “The agreement was finalized after all the details were worked out, and we were waiting for Barcelona’s sporting director, Deco, to return from his vacation in Brazil.”
Bori Fati indicated that negotiations with Monaco were ongoing as both sides worked to resolve outstanding issues before finalizing the transfer.

“There were some final details that needed to be agreed upon with Monaco, so the process took a little longer in the last few days, but today everything is finalized.”
Barcelona officially confirmed the transfer on Tuesday, stating that they will retain a percentage of any future sale involving the Spanish international.
