Luis Enrique, the PSG manager, has long been an admirer of Ferran, having supported him during their time together with the Spanish national team and continues to believe in his abilities.

Barcelona’s Position

According to La Vanguardia, Barcelona’s stance regarding the 26-year-old player is clear: he must either negotiate a contract renewal or be sold.

Sources within the club indicate that extending Ferran’s contract, which is set to expire in 2027, is their preferred option.

Although discussions for a contract extension have taken place, no agreement has been finalized. Both parties have agreed to postpone further talks until after Ferran’s participation in the 2026 World Cup concludes.

Atletico Madrid’s Interest

Besides PSG, Atletico Madrid’s sporting department has also taken note of Ferran.

The Blaugrana have been in unproductive talks with Los Rojiblancos regarding a deal for Julian Alvarez. Now, it seems that the Madrid club has set its sights on Ferran.

Interestingly, during the World Cup, he has been seen spending substantial time with Atletico players Marc Pubill and Marcos Llorente, with whom he shares a strong bond, while still collaborating with his Barcelona teammates at the Spain camp.

Focusing on the World Cup Amid Uncertainty

For now, Ferran is fully dedicated to Spain, who will face France in the World Cup semi-finals next Tuesday.

Those close to Ferran indicate that he is currently weighing three options: renewing his contract with Barcelona, fulfilling his existing deal until 2027, or moving to a different club if an agreement is reached between Barcelona and an interested party.

Ferran’s market price is approximately €50 million, a figure that aligns with Barcelona’s asking price should discussions lead to a transfer.

Consistently, Barcelona aims to renew contracts of players approaching the end of their deals unless they express a desire to depart. If Ferran opts for the latter, the club is open to negotiations.
