Liverpool Secures Signing of Manchester City Goalkeeper Khiara Keating
This afternoon, Liverpool Football Club announced the signing of goalkeeper Khiara Keating from Manchester City, as confirmed in an official press release by The Reds.
The 22-year-old goalkeeper makes the move to Liverpool following the conclusion of her contract at The Joie Stadium.
Keating, a product of Manchester City’s youth academy, made her first-team debut in January 2022 during a Subway Women’s League Cup match against Leicester City. In the 2023/2024 season, she cemented her position as Manchester City’s starting goalkeeper, thanks to head coach Gareth Taylor, who she will now reunite with at Liverpool. During her time at City, Keating accumulated a total of 65 appearances in all competitions.
On the international front, Keating has earned one cap for the senior England team.
Upon joining Liverpool, Keating expressed her excitement: “Liverpool is a globally recognized club and it’s a massive opportunity to be part of a women’s team that is aiming for excellence.
“The style of football they play aligns well with my skills and position.
“I believe they are progressing in the right direction, and it’s a project I’m eager to be involved in.”
With this acquisition, Keating becomes Liverpool’s fourth signing of the summer transfer window.
