Ipswich Town Adds Talented Celtic Full-Back Emma Lawton on a Three-Year Deal
The Tractor Girls announced the signing in a post on their official club website earlier today.
Emma Lawton, a 24-year-old defender, joins Ipswich Town on a free transfer after departing Celtic earlier this summer.

During her two seasons with Celtic, Lawton made 71 appearances across all competitions, scoring 15 goals. Additionally, she has played for Partick Thistle, Manchester City, and Motherwell earlier in her career.
On the international stage, Lawton has represented Scotland 12 times, netting two goals in the process.
Upon joining Ipswich Town, Lawton expressed, “I wanted a new challenge, and after speaking with Sean [Burt] and David [Wright], it’s clear there’s an exciting project here.”

With this signing, Ipswich Town has now welcomed 11 new players during the summer transfer window, with Lawton being one of several signings from the SWPL to make the move to the Sussex club.
