Crystal Palace, newly promoted to the Women’s Super League, have signed striker Bethany England on a two-year contract with an option for an additional year. The 32-year-old former Tottenham captain left Spurs at the end of her deal this summer and will wear the number nine shirt.
England brings extensive top-flight pedigree, having won four WSL titles plus two FA Cups and two League Cups during seven years at Chelsea. She was also part of the Lionesses squad that won Euro 2022 and finished runners-up at the 2023 Women’s World Cup.
She said she was thrilled to join Palace, calling the club ambitious with excellent facilities, and expressed her hope to score freely, create lasting memories, and help write new history for the team.
Across her WSL career, England has scored 87 goals and departed Tottenham as their all-time leading league scorer with 32.
Palace returned to the WSL last season after finishing second in the Championship, following relegation in 2025. Manager Jo Potter said the club was delighted to bring England in and believes her goalscoring record will make her a key figure next season.
