Women’s Super League newcomers Birmingham City have added Canada defender Marie Levasseur to their squad.
The 29-year-old arrives from Montpellier, where she made 63 appearances over three seasons. Before that, she played for FC Fleury, Metz, and ONS Oulu, and previously represented the University of Memphis.
Levasseur, who has 18 senior caps for Canada since her 2015 debut after progressing through the youth ranks, said the WSL has long been a goal and that discussions with the coaching staff convinced her the team’s identity suits her.
She is Birmingham City’s fourth signing this week, following Jade Rastocle, Millie Turner and Lisa Naalsund.
Manager Amy Merricks praised Levasseur’s mentality during recruitment, noting her desire to push herself, her belief in the club’s project, and how well she aligns with the team’s identity.
