According to Sportitalia, Cristian Romero is keen on making a return to Serie A with Inter, but the €50 million price tag set by Tottenham Hotspur presents a significant challenge.
The 28-year-old sustained an injury during the 2026 World Cup Final, but he had already planned to seek a new challenge at the club level this summer.

Romero Set on Serie A Comeback

Although Romero’s contract with Spurs extends until June 2029, he believes his tenure at White Hart Lane is over, particularly after their struggles to avoid relegation from the Premier League.
Reportedly, Gianluigi Longari from Sportitalia states that Inter is in discussions with Romero’s representatives, and he would gladly return to Italy.

Romero initially made a name for himself in Italy, starting with Genoa in 2018, before moving on to Juventus and Atalanta, culminating in his €53.8 million transfer to Tottenham in 2021.
While both the player and Spurs acknowledge a separation is imminent this summer, the €50 million asking price and his salary expectations present significant barriers for Inter.
