Aberdeen’s new licence will take effect for their season opener against Heart of Midlothian on 1 August, with alcohol sales limited to lower-risk, non-category CIR fixtures. Chief executive Alan Burrows said fans have repeatedly called for a more modern, flexible stadium experience, and the club has worked with authorities to put the necessary safeguards and procedures in place. He added that positive feedback from earlier alcohol licence trials showed they enhanced matchdays, and the club looks forward to introducing this change from the first home league game against Hearts.
