According to a recent report from Sunderland Echo, Sunderland is currently engaged in negotiations with Turkish Super Lig club Eyüpspor regarding a potential transfer of striker Ahmed Abdullahi. The Black Cats appear to be looking to cash in on the Nigerian forward this summer.
Abdullahi’s Underwhelming Season in English Football
In the previous season, Abdullahi struggled to make an impact at Wearside, largely due to injuries that kept him sidelined for numerous matches. Although he has yet to make a senior appearance for Sunderland, he has demonstrated his potential by scoring six goals in seven outings for the club’s Under-21 side across various competitions.

Despite being regarded as one of the top young forwards in Nigeria, he currently finds himself out of favor at the Premier League club. A transfer could provide him the opportunity to rejuvenate his career.
Abdullahi’s contract with Sunderland lasts until summer 2028, meaning coach Regis Le Bris isn’t under immediate pressure to offload him this offseason.
