“I’m incredibly pleased to have this finalized and I’m eager for what lies ahead,” said Hamill about his new contract.

“I relocated last year to join Arsenal for my first season, and it has been a great experience. Overall, it’s been a fulfilling year, and I’m excited to continue progressing.”

Hamill recently turned 17 in March, and he has only been eligible for a professional contract for a few months after moving to Arsenal from St. Johnstone FC last summer.

A Scotland U19 international, he played 35 matches in his debut season with Arsenal, contributing across the U18s, U19s, and U21s. His performances as both a right-back and centre-back showcased his adaptability.

While he often wore the captain’s armband for the U18s, this was less common when he progressed into older squads.

Prior to joining Arsenal, Hamill made a brief appearance for St. Johnstone’s first team, appearing only as a substitute in one match.

The young defender is still eligible to play for the U18 team this season, but following an impressive inaugural season in north London, he is expected to transition to the U21 squad more frequently.
