Wales midfielder Harry Wilson made his Leeds United debut in a 3-2 defeat to Wrexham in their first pre-season fixture.
Wilson, who arrived at Elland Road on a free transfer after leaving Fulham, entered at half-time at the Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida.
Wrexham struck inside the opening minute when Kieffer Moore drove in a left-footed finish. Leeds had a chance to equalise soon after, but Joel Piroe missed from the spot following a foul on Dan James by goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo. Piroe later made amends for the Premier League side, flicking in a backheel from a Sean Longstaff pass.
Bailey Cadamarteri burst through to restore Wrexham’s lead, only for Longstaff to level again with a right-footed strike. Daniel Farke introduced Wilson among several changes for the second half, but Sam Smith — who also netted Wrexham’s winner against Manchester United in pre-season — grabbed a late deciding goal for the Championship club.
Wilson nearly salvaged a draw in stoppage time, but his effort flew over.
