Grealish Left Out of Man…

Jack Grealish has been omitted from Manchester City’s preseason tour of Asia as he continues to recover from a foot injury.

The 30-year-old has not played since January, following surgery while on loan at Everton.

Although he returned to training with City last week, he did not join the squad that traveled to Hong Kong on Tuesday.

Enzo Maresca expressed optimism about Grealish’s future participation during his first news conference on Friday. However, with Grealish remaining in Manchester to focus on his fitness, a return seems less likely.

ESPN sources indicate that decisions regarding Grealish’s future for next season have yet to be determined. He is under contract at the Etihad Stadium until 2027.

Everton is reportedly interested in arranging another loan while there have also been preliminary inquiries from clubs in the Premier League, MLS, and Saudi Arabia.

Midfielder Kalvin Phillips has also been excluded from City’s tour squad as he is close to finalizing a loan transfer to Championship club Sheffield United.

Maresca has managed to include several World Cup players in his traveling squad, such as Tijjani Reijnders, Mateo Kovacic, Rayan Aït-Nouri, Josko Gvardiol, Antoine Semenyo, and Abdukodir Khusanov.

Claudio Echeverri is a part of the squad after loan spells with Bayer Leverkusen and Girona last season. Meanwhile, Savinho has also made the trip amid ongoing speculation regarding Tottenham’s interest in the Brazilian winger.
