Hulls Player Shortage:…

Mike White of BBC Radio Humberside is currently in Turkey covering Hull City’s pre-season preparations.

In updates shared on X, White noted that there have been no new signings outside of the existing squad. The only active addition at this time is goalkeeper Jack Butland. Meanwhile, Hidemasa Morita and Matt Targett are not fully fit to participate in training yet, with Morita dealing with an injury. There’s optimism that both he and Targett will be back on the field soon. Additionally, Charlie Hughes is recovering from a double hernia operation, which puts his availability for the opening match against Manchester United in doubt.

White also mentioned that some transfer deals are still in progress, including negotiations for goalkeeper Konstantinos Tzolakis, Leon Bailey from Aston Villa, and Swedish player Elliot Stroud. He emphasized that Hull needs not just more players, but quality additions as well. Fans are growing increasingly anxious, and the team is doing its best to gather information during their time in Turkey.

Additionally, Regan Slater is set to be offered a new contract as he enters the option year of his current deal. Everyone involved is eager to secure his commitment for a longer period, as he aspires to make his mark in the Premier League with a stable and long-term contract.
