Roma has officially announced the signing of Santiago Castro on their website.
The young striker joins the team from Bologna in a permanent transfer deal worth €35 million, plus 10% of any future transfer fee.
The 21-year-old Argentine has opted for the number 9 jersey, previously worn by Dovbyk, who has returned to the club on loan with an option to purchase.
In a heartfelt message to his new fans on Instagram, Roma’s new forward expressed his excitement: “I’m so happy for this new beginning with these colors! Now I’ll give my all for this city! Daje Roma!”
Castro makes the move to Roma after spending two and a half years in Serie A with Bologna, where he accumulated 79 appearances and netted 16 goals. He also gained experience in the Champions League and Europa League during his time with the Rossoblu.
