Hull City owner Acun Ilicali has expressed his desire for Regan Slater to remain with the club as he approaches the final year of his contract. However, Ilicali stated that he would respect the midfielder’s decision if he is dissatisfied with the progress of contract negotiations.
Earlier this year, the Tigers extended Slater’s contract to summer 2027, yet uncertainty lingers as he enters the last year of this deal.
In an interview with BBC Radio Humberside, Ilicali remarked, “We are prepared to present him with a new contract, but ultimately, it requires mutual agreement. While I hold great affection for my players, I must also manage the club in a healthy manner; thus, we need to find the right balance. Regan is an exceptional talent, and it’s crucial for both parties to be satisfied during these negotiations.”
