Chelsea goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen has agreed to join Strasbourg on a season-long loan.
The 24-year-old was identified by Strasbourg’s new manager, Hugo Oliveira, who wanted a ball-playing keeper after Mike Penders returned to Stamford Bridge following his own loan.
The move underscores how the two BlueCo-owned clubs are coordinating on player development, though each transfer still depends on the parties involved agreeing terms.
Jorgensen is set to head to Ligue 1 to secure more regular football after failing to unseat Chelsea’s first-choice goalkeeper, Robert Sanchez.
He trained with Chelsea during their early pre-season tour before returning to London last week to resolve his future.
Strasbourg also signed Chelsea academy defender Genesis Antwi, 19, on loan on Tuesday.
Among 14 deals completed between the clubs are Chelsea’s permanent additions of midfielder Valentin Barco, striker Emmanuel Emegha and defender Mamadou Sarr.
Head coach Liam Rosenior also made the switch but left Chelsea in under four months, with Xabi Alonso appointed as his permanent successor last month.
