Northampton Town has secured the signing of seasoned midfielder Lee Evans on a one-year contract.
The 32-year-old began his professional journey at Newport County, his local club, before transferring to Wolverhampton Wanderers. During his time there, he played a key role in their League One title victory in the 2013-14 season, making 26 league appearances.

Evans later achieved three more promotions to the Championship with Wigan Athletic, Ipswich Town, and Portsmouth.
Most recently, he played for Bradford City, departing at the conclusion of last season when the Bantams fell to Bolton in the League One play-off semi-finals.
“Lee is a leader both on and off the pitch and brings a stabilizing presence to the dressing room,” stated manager Chris Hogg on Northampton’s official website.
Evans is the eighth addition to the Cobblers’ roster this summer and the first player signed since a consortium featuring former Brazil striker Alexandre Pato emerged as a potential majority stakeholder in the club.
