Porto Set to Abandon…

Reports from Portugal indicate that FC Porto is exploring alternative center-forward options after their recent bid to acquire Santiago Gimenez from Milan was rejected earlier this week.

Following Milan’s record transfer for Goncalo Ramos from Paris Saint-Germain this window, Gimenez has become redundant in their squad, prompting the club to seek a buyer for the Mexican forward.

Porto had been among the clubs considering a move for Gimenez, who transferred to Milan from Feyenoord for €32 million plus add-ons during the winter of 2025. However, according to O Jogo, the Portuguese side is now willing to explore other targets.

This week, it was reported that Milan had rejected an offer from Porto for a season-long loan with a potential purchase option for €15 million.

Additionally, O Jogo states that Milan is seeking a fee for Gimenez’s loan for the 2026-27 season, suggesting a buy option or obligation in the range of €20 million to €25 million.

According to the Portuguese outlet, there have been no new developments concerning Gimenez after Milan declined the €15 million loan offer on Tuesday, leading Porto to reach out to other center-forward candidates.
