According to Sky Sport Italia, Roma is nearing a deal for versatile Fenerbahce defender Jayden Oosterwolde, while Chelsea has turned down an initial bid for Jamie Gittens.

Roma continues to strengthen their squad for the 2026-27 season, and reports from Gianluca Di Marzio indicate they are close to finalizing a deal with Fenerbahce for 25-year-old Oosterwolde.

Oosterwolde is capable of playing both as a center-back and as a wide defender. The report states that discussions between the two clubs are set to continue today, with Roma optimistic about reaching an agreement for a loan deal that includes an option to buy, which would become mandatory under certain conditions.

Matteo Moretto has confirmed that Roma is making progress towards an agreement with Fenerbahce.

Additionally, reports indicate that Roma is still pursuing more attacking options despite recently acquiring Rodrigo Mora.

Although Roma is interested in Gittens, Chelsea has reportedly rejected Roma’s initial offer.

According to Di Marzio, Roma’s first bid was €3 million for a one-season loan with an option to purchase at €40 million.
