Tottenham Hotspur has expressed interest in Chelsea players Mykhailo Mudryk and Tosin Adarabioyo, according to sources from ESPN.
This summer, Spurs have already invested £380 million in acquiring eight new players, yet they are looking to strengthen their squad further ahead of Tuesday’s transfer deadline.
Roberto De Zerbi is particularly interested in adding a winger to his lineup. Spurs had attempted to secure Everton‘s Iliman Ndiaye after failing to acquire Cody Gakpo, who is now likely to remain at Liverpool despite interest from Manchester City.
However, a deal for Ndiaye seems unlikely as sources indicate that Manchester City has reached an agreement with Everton for the Senegal international.
As a result, Spurs have explored other options, including an unexpected move for Mudryk, who has been cleared to play again following a resolution between the Football Association and the World Anti-Doping Agency after spending 20 months sidelined due to a positive doping test.
De Zerbi’s history with Mudryk dates back to their time together at Shakhtar Donetsk, where Mudryk emerged as a first-team player before making an £85 million transfer to Chelsea in January 2023.
Sources reveal that discussions are ongoing with several clubs, including Sunderland and Leeds, who have shown interest in Mudryk, as well as other unnamed European teams.
Since November 2024, Mudryk has not been named in any of Chelsea’s matchday squads and has not featured for the club in competitive fixtures.
After Saturday’s 2-0 defeat at home to Newcastle, De Zerbi disclosed that Richarlison, Kevin Danso, and Pape Matar Sarr have all requested to leave the club.
Tosin is being considered as a potential replacement for Danso, who is keen to finalize a move by the transfer deadline.
It’s important to note that Premier League rules allow teams to have only one player on loan from another club in the same division at a time. Spurs’ talks with Chelsea concerning Mudryk involve a loan, meaning if they want to sign Tosin as well before Tuesday’s deadline, they must do so on a permanent transfer.
