Zinédine Zidane has once again expressed his ambition to manage the French national team in the future. Speaking at the Festival Dello Sport, organized by Gazzetta dello Sport in Trento, Zidane addressed the audience regarding his career aspirations. With Didier Deschamps expected to step down after the 2026 World Cup, Zidane is widely regarded as the front-runner to succeed him as head coach of Les Bleus.
Since leaving his role as head coach of Real Madrid in 2021, Zidane has been without a managerial position. However, he has consistently indicated his desire to lead the French national team one day. During the event on Sunday, he reiterated his intentions as reported by Gianluca di Marzio, stating, “I will definitely return to coaching. I don’t know what the future holds for me. One of my goals is to coach the French national team. We’ll see.“
