Ibrahima Konaté is entering the final year of his contract with Liverpool, and without a new agreement in place, his future at Anfield remains uncertain.
According to reports, both PSG and Real Madrid are closely monitoring the situation and could express interest if contract negotiations falter ahead of the January transfer window.
As Liverpool considers its options, Foot Mercato has recently reported that Konaté has been offered to several elite European clubs, including PSG, Real Madrid, and Barcelona.
The Spanish powerhouse already secured Trent Alexander-Arnold from the Premier League champions last season and appears ready to add another valuable player from Liverpool.
Could Kylian Mbappé Play a Key Role?

Defensa Central has reported that Kylian Mbappé has been in discussions with Konaté during their time on international duty with France, gradually convincing him to consider a free transfer to Real Madrid in the summer of 2026. Mbappé believes that Konaté is inclined to join Real Madrid and is awaiting an official offer.

Konaté is in a strong negotiating position and may benefit from waiting before making a commitment. As the January transfer window nears, Fabrizio Romano states that Real Madrid plans to target Konaté next summer, looking to sign the Liverpool defender as he becomes a free agent.
“It’s an intriguing situation because Liverpool is still in talks with his agents,” Romano noted in a recent episode of his “Here We Go” podcast. “About a year ago, Konaté was on the brink of signing a new contract with Liverpool.”
“However, issues regarding the terms of this new deal arose, causing delays in negotiations. Although an agreement has yet to be reached, discussions between Konaté and Liverpool are ongoing.”
“It’s not a done deal, which allows multiple clubs to express interest, including Real Madrid. They were previously tracking William Saliba, but since he opted for a new contract at Arsenal, Konaté has emerged as an option. Nonetheless, it’s premature to say what Real Madrid’s plans are, and Liverpool continues to engage with the player in hopes of extending his contract.”
