Inter are proving their decision to keep Francesco Pio Esposito rather than loan him out was wise, despite many doubting the 20-year-old’s ability to make an impact.
A few months back, it seemed unlikely that the Nerazzurri would offer Esposito playing time, given the presence of Marcus Thuram and Lautaro Martinez in the squad.
When the football world realizes that being 20 years old does not equate to being too young, and that one can already gain significant experience, it may just be too late.
Inter’s Confidence in Esposito

Pio Esposito progressed through the lower leagues before securing his place in the first team, showcasing Inter’s commitment to their values.
After forming a strong bond with Spezia, he decided to express his gratitude by finishing his loan at the club in Serie B during the summer of 2024, believing he would have consistent playing time rather than a limited role at Torino.
As he continues to score and impress on the field, people often downplay the significance of his achievements, but Pio Esposito’s talent speaks for itself, needing no embellishments or narratives that could hinder his development.
In addition, he has been nominated for the 2025 Golden Boy Award, recognizing him as one of the top young talents in the sport.
