Barcelona Midfielder…

Barcelona’s Pedri delivered an impressive performance during the team’s narrow 2-1 victory over Girona on Saturday.

He netted the crucial opening goal, but Girona quickly leveled the score with Axel Witsel’s strike in the 20th minute.

In addition to scoring, Pedri was a dynamic presence throughout the match, playing a key role in midfield before being substituted just after the hour mark.

After the match, Pedri shared his thoughts on the team’s performance with the media.

Pedri’s Remarks Following the Victory over Girona

Reflecting on the game, Pedri admitted that Barcelona did not dominate as they would have liked, expressing dissatisfaction with the team’s overall display.

“I believe we didn’t play our best match; there are many aspects we need to improve. I’m not satisfied with the team’s performance, but ultimately, we came away with three points, which is what matters most,” he stated (h/t Mundo Deportivo).

“It wasn’t a great match for the team, but we secured the three points, which is what counts most,” he added.

Pedri emphasized the significance of winning even when the team isn’t at its best.

“These are the crucial matches. Winning when playing well and dominating is expected. However, when you’re not at your best and still manage to earn three points, it’s vital for your title aspirations as the season progresses,” he reasoned.

Fermin Lopez echoed similar sentiments, noting the importance of victories in challenging games like these.

Lastly, Pedri turned his focus to the upcoming Champions League clash against Olympiacos, stressing the need for analysis and improvement.

“We need to evaluate what went wrong, work on those areas, and now we must shift our attention to the Champions League,” he concluded.
