Today, Max Allegri and AC Milan held discussions regarding the termination of his contract. Meanwhile, Napoli will have to wait a bit longer for the final details to be sorted out.
Allegri was dismissed following a disappointing home defeat against Cagliari, which led to Milan missing out on Champions League qualification.
In a single statement, he was let go alongside director of sport Igli Tare, CEO Giorgio Furlani, and technical director Geoffrey Moncada.

Allegri is poised to take on a new role at Napoli, stepping in for the departing Antonio Conte, with plans to sign a two-year contract. However, he must first wrap up his existing agreement with Milan, and that process is proving to be complicated.
While initial concerns about a drawn-out legal dispute seem to have eased, it’s worth noting that yesterday’s reports suggesting a deal would be finalized today were overly optimistic.
The process is tedious and requires a bit more patience to iron out the remaining issues. Lawyers and representatives are diligently working to continue discussions on Thursday.
