Speaking to DAZN after the game, Lautaro reflected on the victory’s significance.
When asked if it was the ideal gift for fans, Lautaro responded,
“This is the best gift for the fans. It was a direct matchup, and Atalanta is a strong team with a solid record in recent years. You must face them with what you’ve prepared.
“There was a different coach before, and it was tough under the previous system too. We played a match similar to our recent ones. There’s still room for improvement, but I am happy. It’s a gift for the fans and our families who always support us.”

The Inter captain also acknowledged the hard work of the club’s staff, crediting them for helping him regain peak form after a challenging conclusion to the previous season.
“Time passes for everyone. I ended last season poorly due to a hamstring injury. I got injured before the final, then went to the World Cup and international duty. I put in a lot of effort to return to good shape. With young players pushing from behind, they elevate the overall standard. You must be ready and willing to develop, and I have that motivation every day.”
In an interview with InterTV after the match, Lautaro emphasized the team’s collective effort behind this win.
“It’s an important victory for a team eager to make a statement. We faced a tough opponent that knows how to make things complicated. Our preparations were spot on and we approached the match perfectly.
“There are still aspects to improve upon, and we need to work on that. However, I’m pleased with the team’s performance and the contributions of the substitutes. This is crucial for the growth of our squad.”
