Armagh Escapes Relegation…

Aimee Mackin made a triumphant return from injury, leading Armagh to a vital 1-13 to 2-8 victory over Kerry, alleviating their relegation concerns in Division One of the LGFA National League.

Mackin contributed four points to the two-point win that helped the Orchard County climb out of the relegation zone during a closely contested match in Silverbridge.

At halftime, the home team held a 1-6 to 1-2 lead, with Mackin scoring a free and Kelly Mallon contributing from set-pieces.

Blaithin Mackin netted Armagh’s goal, assisted by Lauren McConville. Despite a stellar performance from Kerry’s Siofra O’Shea, who scored 2-2, Armagh dominated the second half to secure the win.

In other league news, Galway secured their spot in the league final with a 3-13 to 1-13 victory over All-Ireland champions Dublin.

This defeat means Dublin faces a precarious situation heading into next weekend’s final fixtures, where a showdown with league leaders Cork could result in relegation.
