Mikel Arteta has emphasized that there is “no fear” of Arsenal potentially finishing the season trophyless, expressing enthusiasm about the chance to secure silverware.
The Gunners’ momentum has stalled at a critical juncture, having dropped three of their last four matches across all competitions. This includes a defeat in the Carabao Cup final to Manchester City and an FA Cup exit at the hands of Championship side Southampton.
Last weekend, Arsenal suffered a 2-1 home defeat against Bournemouth, putting them just six points ahead of City, who have a game in hand and will face the Gunners at the Etihad on Sunday in a highly anticipated match.
Prior to that, Arsenal will take on Sporting Lisbon in the Champions League quarterfinal second leg at the Emirates, holding a 1-0 lead from the first leg in Lisbon.
As his team approaches a pivotal week in their season, Arteta delivered an impassioned message, urging them to seize what he considers the most significant moment in his six years at the club.
When asked about his feelings regarding Arsenal’s chances of winning the Premier League for the first time in 22 years and the Champions League for the first time ever, Arteta stated: “Fire. I am on fire. That’s it. Nothing else. I’m dreaming a lot. I’ve fought hard to be in this position because I understand how this club has struggled.”
“I have overcome numerous challenges, and now I see only beauty, opportunity, and I am determined to achieve this for everyone who has been on this journey with us; they truly deserve it. They’ve been incredible.”
“I feel no fear. The only fear I have is about the implications of failure for this club. Right now, I have no fear — just purpose, passion, and the conviction that we will succeed.”
Amidst the disappointment from fans during the Bournemouth match, Arteta delivered a similar call to unity ahead of Sporting’s visit, saying: “No fear, pure fire, that’s it. I feel it myself. We need that same fire from the players and the supporters. We must embrace this incredible opportunity we have in front of us this April. Let’s tackle it head-on, giving everything we have.”

“Our goal is challenging and filled with obstacles, just as it should be. We aim to achieve something unprecedented for this club. It’s a significant challenge, considering for other clubs, semifinal appearances are routine, but for us, this is historic.”
“We truly value our current position. We have the chance to reach the semifinals, we are in the race for the Premier League, and we are in a solid position after over two decades. We recognize the challenges ahead, but the difficulty and challenge make the pursuit all the more worthwhile.”
