Official: Atletico Madrid announce Lookman’s transfer from Atalanta
Atletico Madrid has confirmed that Ademola Lookman has landed in Madrid and is on track to become an Atleti player, pending his medical examination and contract signing.

As reported on Sunday, Atalanta is set to receive a guaranteed payment of €35 million, with potential bonuses reaching up to €5 million.

The Nigerian forward is anticipated to sign a four-and-a-half-year contract that will earn him approximately €7 million annually.

“Atletico Madrid and Atalanta have reached an agreement for the transfer of Ademola Lookman, the 28-year-old Nigerian international, who is already in the Spanish capital. The finalization of the deal is subject to the medical check and signing of his contract,” stated an official announcement from the club on Sunday evening.

Lookman has been a transfer target since last year, especially after scoring a hat-trick in the 2024 Europa League final. Although he was rumored to be heading to Paris Saint-Germain shortly after, recent reports have linked him to a move to Fenerbahce.
He is now set to finalize his departure from Atalanta with a total transfer fee of €40 million, making him the fifth most lucrative sale in the club’s history, following Rasmus Hojlund to Manchester United, Mateo Retegui to Al-Qadsiah, Teun Koopmeiners to Juventus, and Cristian Romero to Tottenham.
