The fallout from Barcelona’s elimination from the Champions League continues to make waves, and this time, it is Juan Musso who has responded to Raphinha’s strong remarks.
Following a contentious quarter-final against Atletico Madrid, Raphinha had described the outcome as a “robbery.”

Musso, who was pivotal in Atletico’s advance, has addressed Raphinha’s accusations directly.
“It seems they’re saying there were three penalties they didn’t get or four red cards. It’s unfair to label this a robbery,” he remarked.
Musso’s Response to Raphinha
While he understood the emotional intensity behind Raphinha’s comments, Musso insisted that Atletico’s victory was genuinely earned on the field, not dictated by the referee’s decisions.
“I comprehend what Raphinha is expressing, and I value everyone’s viewpoint, but we shouldn’t refer to this as theft as it doesn’t contribute positively,” he stated.
“We secured our win on the pitch; we triumphantly beat them 2-0 away. In football, the last man back is a red card — that’s just the rules,” he pointed out.

The goalkeeper also expressed his admiration for Barcelona, indicating that the narrative surrounding the match has been exaggerated.
“Barcelona is a team we hold in high regard, and it truly drives us to compete against them; they’re an extraordinary team, but calling this a ‘robbery’ is simply outrageous,” he noted.
The Incident with Fermin Lopez
One incident that heightened Barcelona’s frustrations was a serious collision involving Fermin Lopez.
The midfielder fell onto Musso’s extended boot while the goalkeeper was attempting to block the ball, leaving Fermin in need of medical attention for several minutes before he could continue the game. Replays underscored the seriousness of the collision.

“It’s absurd to frame this as a robbery,” Musso elaborated.
“If they’re suggesting a penalty for the incident with Fermin, I feel for him because he was injured, and I never wish that upon anyone.
“I immediately checked on him. It was just a challenge, with him heading the ball and me trying to block it. There’s no way that should be considered a penalty,” he concluded.
