Barcelona Officially…

FC Barcelona has officially announced their reinstatement to the European Football Clubs (EFC), previously known as the European Clubs Association (ECA).

Under the leadership of PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi, the association has welcomed the Blaugrana back after their departure related to the Super League initiative.

“FC Barcelona reports that it has received an official communication from the European Football Clubs (EFC) confirming its readmission as an Ordinary Member of the organisation,” the club stated.

“Following the club’s decision to terminate its affiliation with the European Super League Company and to formally apply for readmission, the EFC Board of Directors has unanimously approved FC Barcelona’s reinstatement, in accordance with its Statutes.”

Last week, Barcelona reaffirmed that they had definitively exited the Super League, successfully rebuilding and strengthening ties with both UEFA and the EFC.

In fact, their departure from the Super League also encouraged Real Madrid to reconcile with these organizations, ultimately leading to the abandonment of the controversial project.

Now, Barça has been welcomed back into the EFC, with the club’s statement emphasizing their connection with the organization’s president, Al-Khelaifi.

“The communication received indicates that EFC President Mr. Nasser Al-Khelaifi personally presented the Club’s membership application to the Council during today’s meeting, and highlighted the pivotal role played by Mr. Joan Laporta in facilitating this agreement.”

Further recognizing Joan Laporta’s contributions, who resigned as president earlier this week to participate in the upcoming elections, the statement added:

“In this regard, the Club wishes to acknowledge Mr. Joan Laporta’s clear dedication and proactive involvement in mending relations with the EFC, which were essential for the Club’s return as an Ordinary Member.”

In conclusion, Barcelona’s statement affirmed: “FC Barcelona welcomes this decision and reaffirms its commitment to collaborating with other European clubs for the betterment of football, its competitions, and its fans.”
